I love the Pittsburgh Steelers so much, it hurts sometimes.
I hearken from Cleveland, Ohio. Both of my parents are rabid Cleveland Browns fans. I was also raised to be a Browns fan. And I seriously had a poster of Bernie Kosar that covered my entire bedroom door when i was 7. But then...high school...and extreme aversion to any kind of sport.
I attended college at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, PA. Still didn't care about sports. Until that one day Josh took me to the last game at Three Rivers Stadium. I remember it quite well...
Woke up pretty late that Sunday, and it was so cold and gray. I said I would go with him to a "stupid football game" and I really had no idea what we were getting into. But then, as I was surrounded by thousands of Steelers fans, beer, and nachos, I caught the Steelers Fever. There was this amazing halftime show, where all of the Superbowl greats of the past showed up to say goodbye to their stadium. Misty-eyed strangers who could barely walk bought me beers. I left that day forever devoted to the Steelers.
