...aaaand we're back!

After a much-needed summer break, you've got your most beloved Steelers blogger back! Yes, and the Steelers themselves as well.

I've been making HUGE plans! I'm moving to Irvine, CA in a month for grad school to attend UC Irvine's MBA program. So please excuse me for neglecting my blogging duties.

Do any of my readers live in the OC? Contact me - I'll need a new crew to watch the games with. It's always the best to start off a great football Sunday morning at 10am with a pitcher and friends!

On an amazingly AWESOME note, I may be featured in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review for  "over-the-top" Steelers fans. I just got this email today:

I'm doing a story this week on Steelers fans who have done odd or interesting things to show their love for the team. I've got a guy in Clairton who built a 13-foot high replica of the Lombardi Tropy in the "sports bar" in his home. I'm interested in people like this if you know any. Please let me know ASAP how I can contact them, the story is running on Sunday.

Then I wrote this back:

I'm the biggest Steelers fan I know in Southern California. But you've already seen my blog :) Oh, and there was the guy who had that Steelers funeral. I'm excited to see your piece this weekend!

I gave him my digits and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This may be the most exciting thing to happen to this blog, ever!

Welcome to SoCal! I've lived in the area for two decades -- the last 13 in Huntington Beach -- but you'll find no shortage of Pittsburgh transplants in the area (Sharkeez in Newport Beach is probably the closest Steelers bar to Irvine).

Dude, you are FAR from the biggest Steeler fan in Southern CA. Just go to Gabe's bar on Sepulveda in LA for any Steeler game. There are hundreds of Steeler fans there alone. There are also many other HUGE Steeler fans in Orange county and the Inland empire.

I just moved to Irvine myself from L.A. Congrats on the MBA candidacy @ UCI. I received my MBA from USC, which explains why I live in the OC now (all Trojans are either from here, or eventually move here). When I was in L.A., I watched Steeler games at home through Sunday Ticket, or I wemt to the Cock and Bull on Lincoln in Santa Monica/Venice. Great English Pub w/hardcore Steeler fans. I've been die-hard bleeding black and gold since I was a wee kid in the 70's, survived the lean 80's, until we finally won one for the thumb two seasons ago. Big Ben is primed and ready for a rebound season. I'm sick of hearing about the frickin' Pats, Bolts, and Colts being the big 3 from the AFC. Can't wait for the Steelers to shut everyone up when they go all the way again this year. Any other Steeler bars in the Irvine area in addition to Sharkeez in Newport?

I'm living in Irvine also and wanted to find a place to watch the game. I think I'll try to go to this Sharkeez place. You game?

I live in L.A., but for the past 4 years I've been going to the "Shark's Cove" in Hermosa beach, it's a pretty big bar and usually nothing but hardcore Steeler fans, the BEST place I've found to watch the games!

I'm glad i found this site, i'm checking Gabe's bar next Monday for our game against the ravens.

I'm looking for a bar in the OC which will televise the Steelers vs. Rams on 12/20.

I am looking for a Steelers Bar in the Willow Grove area of Philadelphia. I have to be there for Work this weekend and Need a Place to watch the Black and Gold and be amongst people who understand the game (Steeler Fans). I was out there a few weeks ago and wanted to plunge myself onto a sharp object when hearing those idiots talk about football, Eagles fans have no clue!!

I am looking for a Steelers hangout for this fall. My husband and I are huge fans, not only does he have a complete room filled with Steelers memrobilia but he has the Steelers tattoo and got his picture taken with Mr. Rooney showing it to him. We live in Corona and are looking for some place close to go watch the games or we have a 54" Flat screen TV with surround sound to watch with friends. Look forward to hearing from you!
