« Joey Porter still has Steelers pride | Main | Hi, Mike Tomlin! »

I am crying tears of black and gold right now.

My coworker just told me that Joey Porter was released. Why is this happening?

The Bus - I can understand.
Bill Cowher - sad, but acceptable.
Joey Porter - not okay.

I don't know what to do right now. I think I feel sick.

Mistake! The Steelers are in need of leadership more now than ever. No Bettis, no Cowher, and now, no Porter?!? I've read that this release could have been influenced by fears that a Porter holdout could undermine Tomlin's authority. Give me a break. Tomlin's an NFL head coach. If he cannot handle a holdout, then he should not be the head coach of our Steelers. Furthermore, why Porter? Ike Taylor cannot even make the starting lineup, and no one is talking about his over-sized contract. I do hope it all works out, but I am not please with the direction we're heading.

Here comes another disapointing mediocre season
My Terrible towel will remain displayed upside down.....

This was coming. I resigned myself to the possibility of possibly 10 years of mediocrity, while the Rooney's figure out what to do with their new head coach. The 3-4 is gone. Notice how quickly the Defensive Ends were signed. Porter's gone, so is the 3-4. Dick LeBeau will be gone. He's the only remnant of the former team. This is beyond sad.

The saddest thing isn't the leaving, It's the sickenning feeling I'll get when I see one of our hero's in another uniform! We'll see where HIS heart lies soon! (Money or Mabey he'll do a Bettis and take less to stay with the team... I Doubt it!)
Hopefully LeBueau will be able to keep the 3-4 so Troy can still do what he does best!

I too was sick about this ,,but lets face it we as loyal steelers fans have been down this road so many times before I have not got over when Rod Woodson left and even when Franco put on a seahawks uniform before calling it quits or Mike Webster in a chiefs uniform and too many more to mention ,,,yes I am sick about it but lets focus on who is still here

JOEY PORTER IS OVER THE HILL AND COST TO MUCH!!!!!!!

James Harrison and Lawrence Timmons will both do better than Porter ever did.

And yes, i do love the Steelers more than my own mother.
